Cathryn Miller: "As a child, I lived in a neighborhood where all the living rooms had venetian blinds on the windows, and all the homes except mine had things like plaster ducks and cross-stitched sayings (like Home Sweet Home and Home Is Where The Heart Is) on the wall. This book is an attempt to evoke both those homes and the one that I grew up in, which was always a little different.

"The book opens vertically to simulate a venetian blind, and may be hung on the wall for display."
